The City of Harriman is seeking candidates for the position of Certified Police Officer.  Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but interested parties are encouraged to submit their application and resume on or before 4:00 pm on7/7/2016 at the Harriman City Complex located at 609 N. Roane Street.  Preference may be given to applicants who have attended an accredited law enforcement training academy in the State of Tennessee and be eligible to receive POST certification from the Tennessee Peace Officers Standards in Training Commission.  Must have a valid Tennessee Driver's License and good driving record.  Must be at least 21 years of age and a citizen of the United States.  High School Diploma or Equivalent required.  Must not have felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving "moral turpitude".  Not have been released or discharged other than honorable conditions from armed forces of the United States.  Must be able to successfully pass physical and psychological examinations.  Full job description and employment application below. Written tests for this position will be held at the Harriman Police Department located at 130 Pansy Hill Road on Wednesday, July 13th with the first session held from 10am to 12pm and the second session held from 6pm to 8pm. Candidates with a passing score on the written exam will be scheduled to attend physical agility testing on July 19th. Selected candidates will be required to attend an interview with command staff on July 20th.
