Harriman Seeks Grant for Community Center and Riverfront Park Upgrades, Invites Community Input

Harriman is in the process of applying for a grant through the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation Recreation Resources Division. Improvements are proposed at both the City’s Community Center Facility, and at Riverfront Park. Improvements at the Community Center will include new flooring for the gymnasium (64′ x 95′), an HVAC system since the gym is without and the flooring is better in a climate, controlled facility, and paving the original parking lot (61′ x 190′). ADA parking and access will be assured. Improvements at Riverfront Park will include phase I of the installation of new lighting along the heavily utilized walking trail. All wiring will be underground. If available, funding could also be utilized for safety cameras and parking upgrades. We are asking for the community’s input on the proposed improvements. If you have any questions, you may contact Harriman City Hall at (865) 882-9414.
